Man the internet has grown a lot of the last 28 months. I first uploaded the trailer for Nerdcore For Life back in December 2006; more than a year before the movie was actually finished. Since then youtube has really improved a lot. You can upload much bigger files and with the HD or High Quality options, newly uploaded videos look pristine. Back in 2007 I had to make a censored version of the NC4L trailer that could be posted on Newsweek.com. I found that old censored version and uploaded it the other day. It looks really nice when played in "HQ" mode on youtube.
But the internet has evolved in another way. I found this site called "kicklight" that lets you add your own banners to your youtube videos and then embed the whole package wherever you want. I still get messages and e-mails from people who see the trailer and want to know "what song is that" or "what was that guy at the --:-- mark" or "when is the dvd coming out?" So I went a little crazy with the photoshop and made some "kicks" to add to the trailer. The whole thing is a very handy litle package and unlike a lot of embed-able stuff, the code works well when plugged into a vox blog. Check it out:
A nerdcore fan at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, CO contacted me about two months ago and asked what it would take to make a screening and concert happen at his school. We exchanged some ideas and the dude actually busted his ass and made the whole thing happen! He even got the school to sponsor it as an official event so the whole thing will be free and open to all. They even made up some really sweet posters:
I'll be there and so will Colorado's favorite son, Ytcracker. This is a student thing but the general public is welcome.

Hey so this is cool, Amp Magazine did a great story about Nerdcore For Life and you can read it by clicking right here, right now:

I did my interview for this so long ago I didn't even remember what I said. I like this piece because it's the first time a reporter included anything I had to say about craigslist. Without craigslist, I never would have been able to make the film; I found most of our camera operators there and I even found our editors there! So I'm glad Craigslist finally got a little credit.
