The pre-review is in!
If there’s anyone in the world that knows more about the behind the scenes action in the world of Nerdcore Hip Hop it’s self-professed Nerd blogger “Z” of Hipsterplease.com. Z also is one of the few people out there that really cares about Nerdcore that I DIDN’T get to interview for the film.
Seeing as how he’s both knowledgeable and objective, I thought it would be a good idea to give Z a sneek peak at our Work-In-Progress cut of Nerdcore For Life. Z sent me a fantastic set of notes and really gave ME a sneak peek of what die-hard nerdcore fans would think about the documentary. Before now I’ve let a handful of friends and fellow filmmakers see and critique the film but hearing the opinion of a Nerdcore fan was fascinating to me.
Besides his notes Z also posted a review of the film on his website today…

I’m happy that Z was the one to give us our first review and I’m really happy he liked the movie. Check this out.
From Hispterplease.com:
Nerdcore For Life isn’t just about nerdcore hip-hop; it’s about people, it’s about ideas, and it’s about that glorious – if tentative – modern acceptance of the self-identifying nerd (of which I believe we are a symptom rather than a root cause.)
That’s cool but here’s the line that would look good on any DVD box cover:
….you’ll probably find this to be the finest geek-centered film of its generation.
Hells yeah. That quote makes even me want to see the movie and I've watched it like 80 times at this point. Thanks Z!
