Seattle is basically the birthplace of Nerdcore Hip-Hop so it was the number one place in the country I wanted the film to play. Like the Wisconsin Film Fest, we were forced to submit a not quite 100% done version of the doc to the Seattle True Independent film fest but holy crap, we got in. We even managed to get two screenings:
Thusday, June 12. 7:00PM- Capitol Hill Arts Center, Seattle, WA
Sunday, June, 15. 1:30PM- Jewel Box Theater, Seattle WA
Allegedly, the festival is even going to be sponsoring a nerdcore show after the screening on Thursday night but I don't have many details about that yet. Chances of the show happening are probably 91%. STIFF (Yes, yes, the acronym is STIFF, grow up) is just the kind of festival I imagined the documentary playing in. It's kinda weird, kinda gritty, kinda underground and all together cool. The Seattle Film Fest will be happening at the same time as STIFF and that ain't no accident. STIFF was basically created as a big F.U. to the SFF which apparently sold out pretty hard to hollywood and doesn't give true indie films a shot anymore. Basically STIFF is the Slamdance of the northwest and I can't wait to get one of their super coolio t-shirts....
Plane tickets aren't cheap right now but I've got to be at the Seattle premiere. There are 5 bazillion nerdcore artists in the Pacific Northwest and they better all show up at the screenings. We should have a good nerdcore turnout. You should be there too.
