Internet 2.1
Man the internet has grown a lot of the last 28 months. I first uploaded the trailer for Nerdcore For Life back in December 2006; more than a year before the movie was actually finished. Since then youtube has really improved a lot. You can upload much bigger files and with the HD or High Quality options, newly uploaded videos look pristine. Back in 2007 I had to make a censored version of the NC4L trailer that could be posted on Newsweek.com. I found that old censored version and uploaded it the other day. It looks really nice when played in "HQ" mode on youtube.
But the internet has evolved in another way. I found this site called "kicklight" that lets you add your own banners to your youtube videos and then embed the whole package wherever you want. I still get messages and e-mails from people who see the trailer and want to know "what song is that" or "what was that guy at the --:-- mark" or "when is the dvd coming out?" So I went a little crazy with the photoshop and made some "kicks" to add to the trailer. The whole thing is a very handy litle package and unlike a lot of embed-able stuff, the code works well when plugged into a vox blog. Check it out:
